Source abstract
¹⁸F-DOPA PET/CT is a well-established imaging modality in pediatric nuclear medicine, with applications in both oncologic and nononcologic conditions. Common indications include brain tumors, neuroendocrine neoplasms, neuroblastoma, and congenital hyperinsulinism. Here, we present an unusual case of ¹⁸F-DOPA uptake in Ewing sarcoma. This case illustrates a potential diagnostic pitfall, emphasizing that ¹⁸F-DOPA avidity is not specific for neuroendocrine or neuroblastic tumors and may occur in non-neuroendocrine malignancies.
